ICE CREAM EXPERIENCE
The Palazzo del Freddo di Giovanni Fassi is the oldest gelateria in Rome, since 1880.
You will experience 130 years of history, discover anecdotes and trademark products from the founding years to our days, from “telegelato” to franchising. A small museum displays antique and original machines.
At Palazzo del freddo you can have two options:
GUIDED TOURS
The tour consists in visiting the laboratory, attend the complete process of gelato making, interacting with the gelatieri for any question and tasting freshly made gelato. The tour finishes with gelato tasting, a gelato cup and the special Sanpietrino by Fassi.
Guided tours are available everyday from 10:00 to 14:00.
GELATO MAKING
2 hours with the Ice Cream Master Andrea Fassi, the founder’s great grandson, who represents the fifth generation of the Fassi masters. Andrea Fassi tells the story of the ice cream, illustrates the processes of artisanal production and demonstrates how the different gelato flavours are created. The visit can be customized in terms of content and duration.
PIZZA CLASS WITH DINNER
Starting at 17.30h approx. Duration: 2 hours
The Maestro Pizzaiolo will show students how to prepare the pizza dough with the appropriate doses. Customers will begin to roll out the dough and prepare the pizza. All the necessary materials and condiments will be made available.
The pizzas will be fired under the control of the master pizza maker and then tasted.

BEER AND FOOD TASTING
Discovering the flavours and secrets of craft beers and typical Lazio flavours. Tasting of 3 types of craft beer and typical local products: cheese, pickles, bruschetta, tomatoes and homemade bread.
